I just posted on my Instagram about it, but I got my diploma in my email. I’m just waiting on it to get mailed to my address! And finally, hours after that email, I saw that my artworks were displayed at an art gallery (circled in image) as part of a Black Contemporaries project: the Tacoma Urban League! It’s my first time getting accepted at one. I thought I would be rejected, but nope! This one has been sitting in my drafts since July and it's time for me to finally post this. When I got a comment on my SaGia promo post on Threads about starting a comic for the first time, I gave them some small advice (I was typing at night and I was tired). Then I decided to expand on it through one of my long Threads . Even though not enough people saw it, I think it might've been helpful for those who want to start drawing comics. But, after thinking about that Thread for days, I've decided to expand on that topic and also the mistakes and frustrations I went through making SaGia. It's been a while since I've made one of these "tips" posts.  Before I begin, let me introduce myself. Hi, my name is Arnezia W., author and illustrator of my own original manga series, SaGia.  Just like with 2021, I will be picking my top nine drawings that I enjoyed making! I don’t agree with my Instagram top nine - it’s mostly reels that people liked. I have made and improved than last year and there’s so many great drawings I did!  I realized my one from 2021 had 10 drawings, not nine. Whoops. But it’s fine. Sonic SATAM This was an experiment on not using a black outline and I have to say, this one turned out pretty good! I also made some Pokémon drawings with the same experiment. I hope to make more like this. 8. X-Files in my Art Style I don’t watch the X-Files, but there’s a channel I watch called Comet that plays it. I thought of drawing Mulder and Scully in my art style. I was also gonna do Buffy in my art style since Comet also plays that show and promotes it too much (same with X-Files) but I never got to that. Back in June, I had posted a vent on how I was feeling. For a couple of weeks, I've been staying away from social media. It felt good to keep away from it. But now, I feel like I want to delete that vent post or keep it on this blog. People for some reason just keep checking it out and I just feel annoyed. I have other blog posts that I put effort into typing. I want to share my life as a small, struggling artist. I'm not quitting or anything, but putting my art out there and sharing the talents I have is a struggle for me. I have been drawing since 2017 and currently, I still draw. I continue to draw on my iPad on the app, Procreate.  As someone who has Aspurger's, I have a hard time making friends. Even on social media. I sometimes don't trust some people who follow me on social media, unless we are cool with each other. Intro  So, since I'm just running out of ideas and want to take a break from posting everyday and sharing art, I want to make this a really long post, so you can get to know me better and my art journey through the years.  So, I had an idea on what to write for this blog. I want to give out some art advice to some new artists out there. While it's not the best and I've never given advice that much, I'll try my best to write it out. 1. Don't just draw fanart; try something original! I have my own original characters, which sadly I can't share yet because I want to protect them by copyright. But I have shared some original art before such as this drawing below: But I haven't done a lot of original art, as I've been drawing so much fanart. I want to slow down from it and try to do more original art. A lot of artist have OCs or original characters, some for a franchise like Dragon Ball or Pokémon. So last year, I didn't agree with my Instagram top nine, as well as my top posts on my Tumblr. So I'm gonna be making my own top nine drawings from last year. 10. Happy 25th Anniversary, Pokémon! I drew this when Pokémon celebrated their 25th anniversary. It's one of those big drawings that was completed in 1 or 2 days. Probably the most thing that sticks out is the Pikachu and Eevee in the center, looking at each other. And as an extra, I decided to add Meowth and Mew. 9. Goku, Krillin, and Launch This was a redraw of an official Dragon Ball drawing. I wanted to try to draw a vehicle, since I hate drawing cars and I'm bad at drawing them and it turned out really good!
