So, I am working on a short 80s commercial thing to promote my indie comic, SaGia. Here's a still frame from it as a teaser:  Looking at 80s Japanese advertisements gave me the inspiration to work on this project. I started animating yesterday and it took me 3 hours to complete the first animation (as seen above), and about 5-6 hours to animate my second one. I tested it out by throwing said animations in a software called ntsc-rs ( the same software I used when I shared one of my animations of Jikiru and Lain back in February ), and was blown away by the results.  For the music... so I'm afraid to say this, but I may have to go with the A-eye route *shudder* because I don't know how to make or compose music. Today, I want to show off a very obscure board game based on Dragon Ball Z. It’s so obscure that it has never been documented much online in full… until now. Now, this game has been talked about previously via a forum board from 2017 , a Reddit post from 2019 , and a short TikTok video from 2023 showing off the game from user andrew_hedgehog that I randomly stumbled across on Google doing deep research for the game. The game is called Dragon Ball Z: Battle Strategy - Frieza Saga Edition and it was released by MGA Entertainment in the year 2000. The game requires 3 C batteries to play. This game plays exactly like electronic Battleship, but there is one mode that I really like: Super Saiyan. I’ll get to that later. My friend said that the new Pokémon Gecqua reminded her of one of those Littlest Pet Shop toys, and after she told me that, I couldn't unsee it and I had to draw this. Gecqua is the only decent starter I liked that was shown in the Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves trailer, the other two starters, not so much. I feel as if the designs are getting worse and it makes me concerned about the box art legendaries. When I was a kid, I was obsessed with collecting Littlest Pet Shops. Really loved them as a kid. I do miss that big collection I had and the old commercials. I didn’t really bother waking up early for the Pokémon Presents thing as I fell off playing the games after Scarlet and Violet, but uh, new mainline games! However… I don’t know how to feel about the starter designs except the water type. Browt looks like an angry bird and I still can’t unsee it after saying it. Pombon… is adorable but just… eh, I don’t know… looks like a generic dog. Also while typing this, my friend said that Gecqua looks like a Littlest Pet Shop toy and now I can’t unsee that either. I feel as if the designs are getting worse and I’m worried about the legendaries. On the positives, the game looks beautiful and the trailer showed off one of my favorite Pokémon, Tropius!
