WA State Summer Con Fanart 2026 for the VAs!

Image
Before WA State Summer Con today, I did a kind thing: I made and gave away drawings to several VAs, including two of my favorites Greg Cipes and Grey DeLise. I’ll post con photos later and a video I recorded of Grey doing Yumi’s voice! Oh, and they all had my business card with it. Chiro from Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! Gave this to Greg and he said, “I love Chiro”. I did get a photo and autograph of Chiro from him, but sadly, he can’t put my name on it due to his Parkinson’s. Yumi from Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi - one of my favorite roles from Grey DeLise ! She really loved it and I recalled her doing Yumi’s voice for me after I showed her my drawing. Can’t remember what she said! Koro Sensei from Assassination Classroom for Sonny Strait - I was originally going to do Krillin, but picked Koro cause I recalled Sonny saying that this was one of his fav. roles. He really loved it! It was nice meeting him again for the 2nd time. Previously met Sonny back in 2022 at Emerald City Comic ...

Sketchbook drawing of Jikiru and Haido! - Unknown Date

Image
🩵💚 Sketch of Jikiru (right) and Haido (left) I made in my sketchbook somewhere around this year, probably in January? Looking back, I thought it was too cute, so I’m sharing it. https://wimbearn.neocities.org | linktr.ee/wimbearn Donations and commissions: https://ko-fi.com/wimbearn

Behind the scenes on how a page of SaGia is done!

Image
I don't really get this asked a lot to me: what's the process of working on your comic? How do you make your comic or draw it out? In case you don't want to watch the video version of how I work on a panel of a page of my comic SaGia, I'll break it down: 1. (Not in the video) I first type up the dialogue and action in Google Docs.  2. I work on the illustration in Procreate. This is a panel from chapter 16 (which will release in June or July over at GlobalComix and will be in Volume 3) that I picked. I won't show the entire page due to spoilers, if you're waiting on volume 3's release or just simply waiting for chapter 16 to come out. I sketch out the drawing in blue; the sketch is rough as you can see. In the above photo, the blue looks lighter; the reason for it is because I draw over the sketch in black, making sure it's perfect. To do this, I lower the opacity of the layer. 3. Once I'm satisfied with the sketch, I finalize the drawing in black. 4...

Quick Updates while I was away!

Image
Hey all, posting an update while I was away for a couple of weeks. Today, I went out with my mom to promote my comic outside of social media.  One of the places we went to was a vintage store and although the owner doesn’t take independent comics, he was interested in my book and wanted me to sign both volumes 1 & 2 with my characters on it! Luckily he had a Sharpie, as I didn’t bring mine, lol. I realized I forgot to draw an eyebrow on one of my characters on the right, but oh well. Fun fact: I’m a leftie! I draw with my left hand. I also successfully got my books in another comic book store called Danger Room Comics in Olympia. I plan to reach out to them sometime this week to see if my comic is in their database. I also came back to Gabi’s Olympic Cards & Comics ( where I had my first event last year ) and was surprised that 2 out of 5 books were sold! I tried looking at more events but still no success. I recently contacted an event called the Olympia Zine Fest but sadl...

SaGia merch concept I made based on Jikiru!

Image
Although this is currently non-existent since my indie comic SaGia isn’t that big yet, I had thought of this concept for days and sketched out my concept on 5/12, which is based on one of my characters, Jikiru.  I was going to work on more merch concepts based on my other characters (Rena, Haido, Lain, Lass, etc.), but wasn’t feeling the motivation this week. I tried so hard to sketch out concepts of action figures, plushies, a reversible plushie of Jikiru/Haido, but again, motivation was so low, I didn’t feel like doing it. I picked Jikiru for this concept because writing her personality in the comic was fun for me that it made me warm up to her. Since I loved her so much, I thought of this idea: an interactive plush based on her. And so, I had sketch out the concept in Procreate and was satisfied with the results. Apologizes for my handwriting in the above sketch concept. I had the idea of having Jikiru’s eyeballs move as well as blink + having her mouth animate. Her head bobs fr...

I 100% completed a game from my childhood...

Image
Note: post was typed on 4/22, but scheduled to post on 4/30. The game from my childhood in question is Enchanted on the Nintendo DS, released in 2007 to tie-in with the movie of the same name; my favorite Disney movie of all time. I got this at some store on the shelf and the part I hate about the game is playing as Prince Edward riding on his horse. I remember getting frustrated with those segments that I had my mom do it for me. The game follows the whole movie, but there are random slime or mushroom enemies that will attack Giselle for some reason. I remember beating the final boss, Queen Narissa's dragon form at night before waking up in the morning for high school without dying to her. Man, the memories. And I saw the entire credits too and quickly saved my game. I remember my heart beating fast during the fight, and I was scared that my mom or dad would come in and take my DS from me. The game's sword segments gets harder, especially post-game. And post-game. Hoo boy. Whe...

The Terrible World of MGA Entertainment Dragon Ball Z LCD Handheld Games! (Review)

Image
Here we go again, more DBZ merch released by MGA Entertainment.  No, you aren't high or having a dream, these are real games (happy 4/20). Disclaimer: I don't smoke, okay?   Previously (on Dragon Ball Z), I reviewed the obscure Battleship knockoff known as Battle Strategy Game - Frieza Saga Edition  and a pinball game (Summon the Dragon Pinball) which re-uses sounds from a Windows pinball game called Space Cadet. In this post, I'll be looking at some of the Dragon Ball Z LCD games released by this company that I own. This will be the last part of the "MGA Entertainment Saga", as I don't really care about some of the other DBZ merch that they released. I love LCD handhelds. My first exposure to them was when I was at my granny's house and my cousin had these collection of SEGA LCD toys. You know, "SHADOW BASKETBALL". That one.  Confused? Well, it’s a meme from this terrible ad: I definitely remember the Rouge and Amy Tennis game .  Someone out the...
