I haven't painted in a while, so using gouache in class was very satisfying. ------ And here's the next drawing. Only two more to go. This one, I was afraid of wasting ink, so this is the best I could do! I first did a quick sketch in my sketchbook and made a master copy on this big piece of paper. And a pretty fitting drawing for me to submit as this week's drawing assignment because Wednesday (2/14) is Valentine's Day which I forgot about when I started this piece last week. Wish I made her eyes pink.  Her sword is inspired by "The Three Musketeers". I'm getting Zorro vibes. ko-fi.com/wimbearn

It ran from 1998 to 2000 on Fox Kids. Most of the cast return and David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprise their roles as Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, respectively. The series is much milder than the original X-Files series, as it contains less blood and violence. Like the original, the duo investigate various X-Files. Some episodes are a “Monster of the Week” format and some are story driven (or two-parters). In the series finale, Mulder saves Scully from an evil alien group. They then kiss each other...

I only have one more New Media assignment to go and 4 more drawing assignments left (I believe there's a total of 8). For this New Media drawing, I used watercolor pencils. I have previously used it before (if you've seen a post on this blog or on my Instagram/DeviantArt/Tumblr/Twitter) so I am very familiar with using them. I've gotten much more experimental. I didn't bring my giant drawing pad to class so I borrowed one of my professor's paper that was already sitting on my desk (it's actually for the beginner drawing students for an assignment they're doing). However, she forgot to give me Bristol paper but this drawing still turned out nice on regular paper. So originally, this was gonna use some yellow colors (I was gonna draw a sunshine type female character;...

Another digital original drawing complete. I finished this on Sunday.  I first did a sketch in my sketchbook after completing my Space Gal drawing from Saturday (I'm really proud of my Space Pirate girl drawing for real!). I felt like sketching something using my imagination. This sketch was quick and just a thumbnail. I then put the sketch in Procreate and extended the canvas. I moved my photo of my sketch to the right a bit and added more background details. What led me to do these two drawings (this and the Space Pirate girl)? I've been watching documentaries from a YouTube channel called Archipel and their content is interesting (I added them to my resources page Friday).  Their videos, "Alternative Paths to Manga" and “Acky Bright” , got me into drawing more original art because I haven't been in a drawing mood due to college (except drawing for my art class that I'm currently taking).   In my post, Drawing #2 , I said I had this idea of drawing this space pirate girl for my next art class assignment. But the drawing took a different direction instead. And if I were to draw a black background, that would waste ink. Today, I finally got to draw my space pirate girl idea (as a non art class assignment). Originally, she was gonna have an eyepatch on her left eye (right eye) but I scrapped it and let her hair cover it up. I sketched the idea in my sketchbook and finished the rest in Procreate. Welcome to February. So, this is big and exciting: I am almost finished with college! On the road to graduation. I only need some more classes to take. And when I'm done... what will I do next? Finding a job and working in public is what I'm afraid of. My dad really wants me to find a job. I have the worst anxiety and I don't get along with others sometimes. I don't make eye contact with other people. I'm just... a quiet and shy person. The world is a scary place to me. The internet is scary too (mostly Twitter which I'm not on much anymore because of my timeline being so negative). It's why I'm mostly introverted and I have some trust issues (I don't trust other people online unless they've been truly kind to me). I like to do my own things. Draw. Voice act.
