Off Topic Tuesday: Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken RPG & Dragon Quest III on the MSX?
So let's talk some Dragon Quest, shall we? Did you know that Dragon Quest has it's anime series? Yeah. We have: Abel Yuusha Densetsu, or Legend of the Hero Abel with designs by Toriyama (well known for Dragon Ball), Dai no Daibouken or The Adventure of Dai with a currently running anime reboot, and some OVA thing called Emblem of Roto. The character Dai from the Dai no Dabouken series has appeared in Jump Force which is the first time a DQ character appears in a video game outside the series and I believe this might be the first time Dai gets introduced to the west:
I will talk about Abel in the future, but for now, let's focus on Dai.
This is free video game of Dragon Quest Dai no Daibouken."
And here's some screenshots:
The rest can be found on the website. Looking at some videos of this game, I say that the person who created the game did a good job. The download link is also on the website, but good luck playing the game if you don't speak Japanese. Unless you read all of the Dai manga (which I haven't, but I'm watching the currently running anime). Chapter four is in the works currently.
Someone has gameplay of the RPG, which you can check out:
And finally, Dragon Quest III on the MSX. While I and II are on the system, III isn't officially on the MSX. I first stumbled across this video which shows credits to the game:
I thought it was real. I tried searching everywhere but Google only gave me results for Dragon Quest I and II on the MSX or III for the NES. I then tried again, this time putting my results in Japanese and actually got something!

This website has files for the MSX game and from what I translated via Google Translate, they call it, the "MSX version Dragon Quest 3 simulator". So as it turns out, this is a fan made thing. This person made the entire III game for the MSX!
The full game can be found only on Nicovideo (basically Japan's YouTube) as well as it's soundtrack. It can also be played online on a MSX website. Links will be below.

Anyways, stay safe everyone, wear a mask, and beware of slimes jumping at you!
