Quick Updates while I was away!
Hey all, posting an update while I was away for a couple of weeks.
Today, I went out with my mom to promote my comic outside of social media.
One of the places we went to was a vintage store and although the owner doesn’t take independent comics, he was interested in my book and wanted me to sign both volumes 1 & 2 with my characters on it! Luckily he had a Sharpie, as I didn’t bring mine, lol. I realized I forgot to draw an eyebrow on one of my characters on the right, but oh well. Fun fact: I’m a leftie! I draw with my left hand.
I also successfully got my books in another comic book store called Danger Room Comics in Olympia. I plan to reach out to them sometime this week to see if my comic is in their database. I also came back to Gabi’s Olympic Cards & Comics (where I had my first event last year) and was surprised that 2 out of 5 books were sold!
I tried looking at more events but still no success. I recently contacted an event called the Olympia Zine Fest but sadly, their applications were closed, so I'll have to wait next year.
Still getting my introverted self outside more! 💛
Besides all of that, chapter 16 is still a work-in-progress, as I had started it on 4/23. I had taken a pause on it on 5/6 and was going to resume the day after that, but I had a really bad headache and allergies was bothering me. I did resume it for a little bit, with one page completed recently on 5/11. Usually, I do two pages a day, and I prefer to draw in peace and quiet, but because I'm spending time with my mom, progress has been very slow. I've been spending time at her house since April 29th; she moved in to a new house, no longer living in an apartment far away. The best part is that she's around the corner from my dad, which I mainly stay at.
