So… I worked on a new website, full of nostalgia.

Like my portfolio and official SaGia website, this one is also made by Weebly. I call it: Kira Kira Nostalgia Show. This site will have a blog portion talking about various nostalgic stuff, as well as various stage shows (sometimes).

I’ve started this website since Saturday night, and it’s still a work-in-progress. But, I’m loving with how the site turned out.

The inspiration behind the site would be me reviewing vintage and obscure stuff mostly on my Blogspot blog and archiving manuals over at the Internet Archive, which I started on 4/9. Previously, I was originally going to archive some manuals over at a website called ManualsLib, but the moderators are mean and rejected my submissions, so I chose to move to the Internet Archive after deleting my account over at ManualsLib. Another problem with that site is that it’s full of ads and has a negative reputation over at Trustpilot.

I was nervous uploading some stuff and preserving it over at the archive since people can leave comments or reviews there and there’s no way to turn that off. I’ve seen some ridiculous comments on that site and most of the comments I’ve seen are people requesting something. If I do get a comment on one of my items, I’ll just ignore it…

I had a hard time coming up with the name, so sadly, I had to rely on ChatGPT to come up with one for me (I can't remember the prompt) and one stood out: Kira Kira Toy Stage. Kira Kira, being Japanese for twinkling or sparkling. I changed "Toy" to nostalgia, and the stage portion meaning I talk about stage shows, mostly those in Japan.

So far, as of this writing, there are two blog posts: one based on the 1998 Warner Bros. film Quest for Camelot, which had a show over at Six Flags titled Quest for Camelot Nights, and the other being the obscure battleship inspired DBZ game which I documented this year, Battle Strategy - Frieza Saga Edition. The manuals and some of the stuff I had archived over at IA are also on the site under "The Archives!".

I designed a mascot for the site named Kira, with the art style taking inspiration from the 2004 edition of the board game, Mall Madness, which I own and is my favorite board game. I got this version for Christmas when I was in high school and I would always win at it (except one time, where I lost; I can't remember who beat me). I remember playing with my friends. Ah, the memories. This version and maybe the previous old version, if complete, goes for about $100 on eBay. Crazy... I didn't know people were selling this for a high price. I remember my first post on Instagram was me mentioning Hasbro telling them to bring back this game and I even posted it on Twitter, and they actually did bring it back in 2020 (years after I made that post), but it's not the same, man.

Working on her full body, I took some inspiration from the muses of the Disney Hercules movie, while thinking about Aphrodite and her personality as portrayed in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Xena: Warrior Princess.

She was fun to draw and I had fun drawing that art style. I know some people may hate it, but I like it. There was even a commercial of the 2004 version that animated some of the girls from this game (Tameka, Rachael, and the unnamed orange/red-haired girl on the box).

Another inspiration and what drove me to making this site was that I feel nostalgic for old stuff, and miss the good ol' days. For example, remember the McDonald's PlayPlace? It's sad that they're getting less frequent. Also, to keep my mind away from social media, which I am on hiatus from. Social media is crazy. Nothing but AI flooding timelines with people falling for some AI generated videos, stupid memes that this generation is coming up with, less interactions on my posts.... *sigh*

The site will be forever ad-free, but donations are welcomed. :). I may or may not take suggestions for blog posts.

Well, that concludes this post. Hope you enjoy the site.

Me finishing my website in 2 days and seeing how it looks:
