My indie comic, SaGia is back to being out of hiatus and this week, I've been making progress. No social media and no YouTube because those two have been distracting me away from the comic and that it causes me to have some restless nights. I've been sleeping better, well, kind of as I tend to wake up either early in the morning or later in the day. It's gonna take me a lot of getting used to as my body is still not used to waking up really early.
This week, I've finished 11 pages out of 44 for chapter 15. Here's an out of context Lass panel - one of my favorite panels I've drawn for this chapter:
If you ask me how long does it take for me to complete a page, I'd say 1-2 hours, depending on how much dialogue and details the panels needs. I've been doing two pages a day. I do take breaks when I need it and I make sure to stretch because Monday when I started chapter 15, my neck muscles were really sore from looking down at my iPad on my lap.
Once chapter 15 is completed, it will be uploaded to GlobalComix early for $1.99 so that you don't have to wait long for volume 3's release. Yes, for those who don't know, starting with chapter 14, chapters will be uploaded early to GlobalComix. Chapter 14 released on my birthday last year, in case you missed it. If you rather wait long for volume 3's release, that's fine. I plan to release chapter 15 to GlobalComix in February or March.
To those newbies, let me ask you this question: do you like action? Do you like aliens? And do you like adventure? Well, SaGia is for you. It's about these aliens known as Sagians who live on the planet Sariju, however, an evil alien race known as the Drakens take over and destroy their planet and their gods, causing the Sagians to move to Earth while the Drakens follow. The Drakens' goal is to find these eight magical pieces known as the Claw Relics, which grant any user a wish. A human boy named Lain Yukomoto meets the Sagian known as Haido, who has another half named Jikiru, and together, they team up to stop the Drakens and must save their planet and Sariju as well as revive the gods.
SaGia is inspired by so many 80s and 90s anime and I've worked hard on this comic for years. These pages actually take hours to work on! Volume 1 had a rough art style, but I slowly improved it with each chapter. Why not give SaGia a chance? You will love it, trust me. If you buy a copy, digital or physical through my Ko-fi shop, or buy a chapter through GlobalComix (first chapter is free!), you're supporting a real, human artist behind the scenes and no AI is being used at all to write the chapters or work on the illustrations. You're helping me fund future SaGia merch, attend more events, and you're helping me keep SaGia alive.
I plan to have a spin-off that features one of the Sagians (no, not Jikiru or Haido) in the future. It's been on my mind recently.
Please keep an eye out for Volume 3 updates over at https://sagiaofficial.weebly.com - scroll down on the website to see the current progress of this volume.
Besides that, I'm back to doing chapter commentaries on my Ko-fi page, only for my one-time or monthly donators. Recently, the commentary for chapter 7 posted this morning and the rest up to chapter 14 will be scheduled every Friday at 6am Pacific/8am Central/9am Eastern. When chapter 15 releases, the commentary for that will be posted two or three weeks after release. If you read my comic up to volume 2, why not read my commentaries? There's some behind-the-scenes stuff such as cut dialogue and sketches. CLICK HERE!
Well, that's about it. Happy Friday and see ya.
